Why doesn't the LED light up?
The LED on the HCS-II board is used to indicate network traffic. It is NOT a power indicator. If your installation does not have any netowkr modules connected to the RS-485 port, the LED will not light up.
The LED lights anytime the HCS-II transmits data on teh RS-485 network.
