(Answer) (Category) Home Automation FAQ : (Category) Audio/Video : (Category) Video :
Coax to cat5 or telephone conversion?
Is it possible to change from coax to telephone or cat5 wire?
It is possible.

Can you elaborate? I have a centralized digital A/V system (6.1), I am using the Channel Plus dist system to route video thoughout a house over coax. The client wants to add a flat screen monitor to one of the rooms. On this monitor he wants to use the S-video or Component inputs. Channel Plus requires Cat5 cable in order to send S-video. There is no way to re-string Cat5 cable. So, I'm courious if it's possible to send Cat5/S-video over coax, and convert back to S-video at the other end?
Any suggestions?
