Over the years, HCS users have asked for a number of improvements to the various pieces of software used with an HCS-II. While we try to incorporate as many of those changes as we can, it became clear we could not satisfy them all. We decided that the best way to improve the tools would be to allow users to contribute to the development effort.
Doing this opens up a number of opportunities. It will allow users to develop their own tools to use with the HCS since this effort also requires the publication of the various protocols the HCS uses. Numerous users have expressed an interest in developing their own compilers based on things like fuzzy logic, etc. This open source effort allows them to do that.
We also knew a number of users had developed their own tools for the HCS and many of them were lookin gfor a way to let other users benefit from their work.
Another reason is the owner of Creative Control Concepts is a firm believer in Open Source Software.
We hope you feel we've made the right decision.
