(Answer) (Category) Home Automation FAQ : (Category) Audio/Video : (Category) Video :
My modulator has Left & Right Audio Inputs - can it transmit in stereo?
Probably not. Just because a modulator has stereo inputs doesn't mean it can transmit the ausio to TVs in stereo format.

Transmitting audio in stereo is done via a system called MTS which is rather expensive. If your modulator is 'MTS Stereo' capable, the audio WILL be transmitted in stereo. Otherwise the Left & Right signals are 'mixed' and will be sent to the Left & Right speakers of your TV in Mono.

MTS Stereo modulators will generally be about $200 more expensive than non MTS modulators.
