What is SMDR?
SMDR stands for Station Message Detail Recording. SMDR tracks all incoming and outgoing calls for each extension. It will include information like Time, Date, Extension, CO Line, Incoming Number (if Caller ID in use) or dialed number, RIng TIme, Call Time, and other status codes.

SMDR can be printed out to any standard serial printer. The format looks like this:

Date Time Ext CO Dial Number Ring Duration Acc code CD

SMDR data can also be captured by a PC running Call Accounting software which will allow you to do more detailed analysis (and even billing) based on the SMDR data.
To use SMDR port of your PBX to collect and analyze data, try WinTariff - Call Accounting Software from the author of Programator at http://www.pbxsoftware.com
I use a serial cable to connect the phone to my pc. Then (using linux) calls are logged to a file. Im sure this could be done via Windows also.
I can't report long -distance call for account code in Wintariff v1.66. Please help me how to configure and report! Thanks a lot!
