How do I program my PBX?
First, make sure the vendor you buy your PBX from will include the INSTALLATION Manual. Without it, you won't be able to do much. The USER Manual does not include the same information and is not a crucial (I hardly opened mine).

Programming is done from digital display phones. Most of the programming can be easily done from the phone once you master using the Next and Previous buttons and the jog dial to scroll through parameters. However, programming things like the Caller ID Names and System Speed Dial List (anythign with letters) is very tedious.

The TD PBXs can be programmed using a laptop and special software. The Panasonic software runs under DOS and can be very hard to get if you are not an 'authorized' installer (i.e. you are a Do It Yourselfer) Even dealers which used to include the software with their PBXs have been asked by Panasonic to stop.

However, there is an EXCELLENT windows software program called the Programator which most people use. It is crippleware allowing you to explore all teh functions but it will only upload the date and time to the PBX. You can download it from http://www.aha.ru/~akarpov/entry_e.htm Registration costs $50 to unlock the upload feature and make it fully functional.

You can find programs which help you to program Panasonic PBX and Voice mail systems at http://www.pbxsoftware.com
