Water and steam surround us for centuries, and they are among the key factors that determine the life processes of humans, animals and plants. Life is not possible without constant access to water. Life at home is not an exception; a constant supply of water provides basic life processes from beverages to hygiene. We can say that water is omnipresent in various forms. The molecules of water vapor are in the air and they are around us.
Sources of water vapor in the house were (among others) the result of the normal life of people. For example, cooking, washing, cleaning and drying cause a large amount of water vapor. Furthermore, the people through their everyday processes generate several liters of water to evaporation. Low humidity is not good for the tenants and it is typically controlled with popular systems for humidification, with a very simple water tank or with the device controlled electronically.
Furthermore, there is the term “collected moisture,” which occurs as the effect of water evaporation from building materials that were used in the construction and finishing works. These are mainly floor coverings of concrete, plaster, plasterboard, finishing coatings, paints and other plaster used as a solution in water, weak mineral mixture and mix for additional update. The usual practice is to close the roof before the winter and before the implementation of insulation and final works during the winter. As a result, the condensed water may appear on the surface of the roofing membrane, on the heat-insulating wool or finished surfaces. Even more intense when it enters into transactions conducted in the attic, because people generate large amounts of water vapor that cannot get out at low temperatures. It condenses when it touches a cold parts of roof structure. Avoid closing the roof before the winter, or doing the final work. Efficient ventilation system will ensure the removal of moisture from outside the building. Excess moisture, which is a result of vaporization of condensation, or even inefficient ventilation of its non-existence, may cause irreparable consequences. Mold on the walls and ceilings, uncomfortable atmosphere in the interior, the gradual deterioration of finishing materials will result in a situation in which a general reconstruction is the only solution.
